Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

International Journal of Justice and Legal Systems (IJJLS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher.

EDITOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts are suitable for publication based on academic merit, originality, clarity, relevance, and compliance with ethical standards.

Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely based on intellectual content without discrimination regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, citizenship, ethnicity, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information regarding submissions to unauthorized parties.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for personal research without written consent from the author.

REVIEWER RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer reviewers assist editors in evaluating the quality, originality, and relevance of manuscripts and may provide recommendations for improvement.

Promptness: Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot provide a timely review should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without editorial authorization.

Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.

Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors and inform editors of any substantial similarity or overlap with other publications.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must avoid manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or institutional relationships.

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate, original, and objective research findings. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are entirely original. Proper citation and acknowledgement must be provided when using the work or words of others.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish substantially similar research in multiple journals.

Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their research results.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works: Authors are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor if significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered in their published work and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
