Changes To Authorship
The editors of this journal generally will not consider changes to authorship once a manuscript has been submitted. Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully determine the authorship list, order of authors, and corresponding author details before the original submission. All authors must have made significant scholarly contributions to the manuscript and must approve the submitted version.
The journal applies strict publication ethics standards in accordance with internationally recognized guidelines, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of author names after submission is highly discouraged and will only be considered under exceptional circumstances with the approval of the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor.
The following policies apply to all authorship change requests:
- All authors must be listed in the manuscript and their complete information must be entered into the online submission system at the time of submission.
- Requests for additions, deletions, or rearrangements of author names must be submitted formally by the corresponding author to the journal editor. The request must clearly explain the reason for the proposed change and include written confirmation from all listed authors, including any authors being added or removed, indicating their agreement with the modification.
- All authorship change requests must be submitted together with the official authorship change form during manuscript revision. Requests that do not comply with the journal’s procedures and documentation requirements will not be considered.
- Changes to authorship after editorial acceptance are generally not permitted. Only under exceptional and justified circumstances may the editor consider such requests after acceptance.
- The editorial process and publication of the manuscript may be suspended while an authorship dispute or change request is under evaluation.
- If an authorship change request is approved after publication, the journal will publish a corrigendum or formal correction notice to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
- Unauthorized or unethical authorship changes may result in rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal of the submission, or retraction of the published article in accordance with publication ethics policies.
- If a co-author passes away before submission or during the peer-review process, the remaining authors may include the deceased individual in the Acknowledgements section when appropriate. If the deceased individual was the sole author of the manuscript, the submission will be withdrawn upon notification by a verified party.
- If a co-author becomes medically incapacitated or otherwise unable to provide final approval during peer review or publication processing, the manuscript may be placed on hold until proper approval or institutional clarification is obtained.
The journal reserves the right to investigate all authorship disputes and may contact the authors’ affiliated institutions when necessary to ensure compliance with ethical publishing standards.
