JJS follows ethical publishing principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ICMJE, DOAJ Principles of Transparency, and other internationally recognized publication ethics standards.

Retraction Policy

Published articles in JJS shall remain accessible, accurate, and preserved as part of the permanent scholarly record. However, under exceptional circumstances involving serious ethical misconduct, scientific violations, or substantial inaccuracies, articles may be retracted by the editorial board, authors, or affiliated institutions.

JJS may retract a published article under the following circumstances:

  • Fraudulent authorship claims.
  • Unethical research practices or lack of ethical approval.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting research integrity.
  • Major scientific or methodological errors invalidating conclusions.
  • Misleading, manipulated, or unreliable research findings.

Retraction notices will clearly identify the affected article and explain the reasons for retraction. Retracted articles shall remain available online for scholarly transparency and archival purposes, accompanied by a visible watermark stating “RETRACTED.”

The editorial board may additionally publish apologies, clarifications, or expressions of concern where necessary to preserve the integrity of the academic record.

Article Withdrawal Policy

Article withdrawal applies to manuscripts that have not yet been formally published. Authors may request manuscript withdrawal through an official written request submitted to the editorial office.

Withdrawal may occur under the following circumstances:

  • Author-initiated withdrawal before publication.
  • Accidental duplicate submission.
  • Ethical misconduct or plagiarism detection.
  • False authorship claims.
  • Significant scientific or methodological errors.
  • Fraudulent use or manipulation of research data.
  • Copyright or legal infringement issues.

JJS reserves the right to impose administrative withdrawal fees where substantial editorial handling, peer review, or production processes have already been completed.

Article Retraction Procedure

If violations of publication ethics are identified before publication, the manuscript shall be rejected and returned to the author accompanied by an official editorial statement.

If ethical violations are identified after publication, JJS may implement one or more of the following measures:

  • Publication of a formal retraction notice titled “Retraction: [Article Title]”.
  • Placement of a visible retraction notice on the article landing page.
  • Addition of a “RETRACTED” watermark on every page of the PDF article.
  • Removal or replacement of the HTML version with a retraction notice.
  • Notification to indexing agencies, institutions, or relevant authorities where necessary.
Correction and Erratum Policy

JJS publishes corrections whenever inaccuracies, metadata issues, or minor scientific errors are identified in published articles that do not invalidate the overall findings of the research.

  • Typographical and formatting errors.
  • Author affiliation or metadata inaccuracies.
  • Reference and citation corrections.
  • Minor methodological clarifications.
  • Legitimate authorship amendments.
  • Data or methodological updates improving research accuracy.

Corrections shall be published as an Erratum or Corrigendum and permanently linked to the original article in both HTML and PDF versions.

Article Removal Policy

Article removal may occur only under extraordinary legal circumstances involving:

  • Court orders or legal enforcement requirements.
  • Defamatory, unlawful, or fraudulent content.
  • Serious copyright infringement.
  • Threats to national security or public safety.
  • Content containing dangerous misinformation or hoaxes.

In such circumstances, article metadata including title, authorship, and publication information shall remain accessible, while the article text will be replaced with a removal notice explaining the legal basis for removal.

Article Replacement Policy

In cases where published articles contain significant errors that may create serious academic, legal, or public consequences, authors may request replacement of the original article with a corrected version.

The replacement process shall follow standard retraction procedures while maintaining transparency through publication history records and links between the original and corrected versions.

Post-Publication Ethics and Dispute Resolution

JJS encourages authors, reviewers, institutions, and readers to report ethical concerns regarding published articles. All allegations shall be investigated fairly, confidentially, objectively, and transparently according to COPE guidelines.
